Meals
of Mercy
by Joan
Kaiser
The Meals of Mercy Ministry
goes into action when there is a death in our church family. We
provide a meal upon the death of a member or a member’s
mother, father,
spouse or child. We contact the family after the church has contacted
the leader of this ministry. The family has a choice of having
food delivered to the funeral home or for a meal after the funeral.
This meal can be served at church or taken to the home, depending
on the family’s choice.
There are six different ladies in this ministry who make calls
to obtain the food that is needed. The meat is paid for either
by the church, or if the member is in an ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship
group), that group may pay for it.
It
takes many people to carry on this important ministry. The families
are very appreciative to us when we provide food for their families
in this time of need.
We need more volunteers to provide food, help serve or deliver
the food. If you are interested in serving and witnessing to these
families in their time of need, please call Joan Kaiser, 239-0794.
