Student
"D" Groups
by
Kay Van Arsdale
There
are many exciting opportunities for students here at OCC. Our
outreach hour (UNITED @ 10:45) is made complete by our small groups
that we like to call “D- Groups”. These groups are separated by
age and gender and exist to push our students into a deeper understanding
of Christ and His love for us.
What happens in small groups
you ask?
• Sharing: There is time devoted
to sharing concerns, praises and successes.
• Prayer: We take
time to share with the Lord.
• Study:
There is time devoted to discuss God's word and his
plan for spiritual
growth.
• Service:
There are times when your group will reach out and serve
others
through various “service projects”
• Fellowship:
Each group sets a time to get together and get to know one
another.
What do D-Groups DO?
• They build community
through fellowship by sharing and caring for each
other.
• They disciple each other to grow
spiritually by praying and studying together.
• They equip each other for service
by developing spiritual gifts and
encouragement.
• Reach out to others by inviting
them to join the group, praying for the lost, and
sharing the “Good News.”
How do I join a small group?
• Contact Jon Maynard at 962-6500
or through e-mail at
jon.maynard@okolonacc.org . If you are in High School,
contact Todd
Pilbean (333-0338), team leader
for High School D-groups.
• Come to the Middle School D-Group
hour at 9 am in classrooms WC 202 A
and B.
