"Access"
- College Age Ministry
By Jeff

College
age is a unique time in life… you are no longer a child
and wouldn’t call yourself an adult for purposes of church
activities; that is for your parents. So where do you fit in?
For the first time in life you are able to make major decisions
for yourself, and unfortunately that sometimes means not attending
church.
ACCESS
is the new College Age Class open to anyone ages 18-25 or currently
attending college. We meet on Sunday mornings in room wc107 for
in-depth Bible study and are looking forward to several service
projects and social events, including a Bonfire worship service
in October. This summer we had an overnight water ski trip, an
ice cream social, and attended a concert.
One of the major concerns shared by parents whose children attended
OCC while they were in high school, is that they stop attending
when they become college aged. Whether they are going to school
in Louisville or out of town, we would like to get their contact
information so we can keep them updated on our events and study
topics. Access will be a comfortable place for them, even if they
only visit every few weekends.
The mission of ACCESS is to provide a college age led ministry
that reaches out to the college aged. It’s a great place
for them to come and discuss the issues and topics unique to their
age and circumstances, and we are looking forward to all the exciting
things to come.
