Chapel
- Another Opportunity for Worship and Fellowship
By Bill
Geiger
| Two
weeks ago I had some fun blowing dust off of a hymnbook
as part of a sermon illustration. But in reality they aren't
that dusty. Each Sunday night at 6 pm in the fellowship
room, we have a group of folks come together who sing the
old hymns as part of our chapel worship time. While the
core for this group is our “seasoned saints,” adults of
all ages participate. It is a friendly group that is open
to new participants. In fact on the Sunday mentioned both
of the families who came forward to place their membership,
had first began attending chapel. |
| Chapel
services are usually led by one of our deacons, Mike Perkins,
who has been preaching for over 25 years. Mike is currently
in a series on issues of the Christian life that compliments
our Sunday morning “Journey” series. Next Sunday's message
is titled, “ Five Life Changing Words”. (There
is no chapel tonight due to the Todd Agnew concert.) Chapel
service offers the Lord's supper and often has folks attend
who missed Sunday morning, or who are from other churches
that don't have Sunday night services. |
 |
| If
you are looking for a warm inviting group of people and
an opportunity to worship the Lord in a traditional but
informal setting, come on over for chapel. |
