"Then came the
day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.
Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations
for us to eat the Passover." (Luke 22:7-8)
Scripture goes
on to tell of Jesus gathering with his closest friends in
an upper
room where they shared the Passover meal together. But
this was not just another Passover meal as Jesus brought
new meaning to the unleavened bread and the wine. From
that point forward these became symbols that we still
use today to remind us of His broken body and spilled
blood at Calvary.
