Fast
Forward: your high-speed
connection
into a small group
Do
you want an opportunity for Christian growth? Would you like to
have committed Christian friends? Would you like to have others
support and grow with you in life? We can help!!
One
of the things we value at Okolona Christian Church is “authentic
community.” We have come to understand that: God's design
is that spiritual growth happens best within the context of groups
of people who study, serve, and worship together. Because
we value “authentic community,” we want to help you overcome some
of the barriers that may have kept you from it. To do that, we
have created an environment that is intentional about moving people
into community called small groups.
Small
groups are communities of 8 to 12 people that meet at least once
a month for one year in a setting that is conductive to fostering
a relationship with others and Christ. This may be in someone's
home or a more formal gathering place where you will study God's
Word and support each another as you all grow together. The essence
of small groups is you all “do” life together. Group members invest
in one another, hold each other accountable, stretch one another,
pray for each other, and most of all you become friends. Your
small group becomes a second family. The small group experience
can be a beautiful thing. Not to say that small group relationships
are perfect (no family or earthly relationship is perfect), but
the experience will be an opportunity for you to grow. If you
choose to participate, you can become a benefit for the others
in your group and key to their growing relationship with Christ
as they do the same for you. We hope you will seriously consider
participating. We feel it's essential to becoming a strong Christian
and we strongly recommend it.
This
month, we are forming new small groups and adding to some established
groups. This is for those of you who are ready to experience authentic
community. If you are one of those people, then it is time for
you to take the next step and participate in Fast Forward.
Fast
Forward
is a 90-minute event designed to help you connect with a small
group leader, others with similar life circumstances, and form
a small group. It's that simple. Fast forward bypasses the barriers
that have kept you from a small group.
To
begin your small group experience, you can sign up at the Fast
Forward table in the lobby. If you're looking to grow and connect
with other believers, Fast Forward can be where it all begins.
