Girls
Just Want to Have Fun!
Women's
Ministry Opry Mills Fellowship Event
By Jeannie
Spencer
What a blast! Around 8 am on Saturday,
April 28, 96 women climbed on board tour buses and headed out
for a shopping adventure at Opry Mills in Nashville. Arlene White,
Woman’s Ministry Team Leader, asked God to bless us on our
journey and to return us home to our loved ones safe and sound.
On the way, we stopped at McDonalds in Cave City to put some yummies
in our tummies. You can’t travel on an empty tummy, you
know. Once we arrived at Opry Mills, everyone scattered in all
directions. Some headed for the food court; some went to have
an eating “experience” at the Rain Forest Café
while others could not wait to grab those bargains. Our agenda
allowed for approximately five hours of shopping bliss. Some ladies
thought that was simply not enough time when they first started
out. But, five hours later, they were right there with the rest
of us standing at the door watching and waiting for our chariot
to carry us home.
A
little after 6 pm, the coaches were loaded again and we
were on our way home. The bus driver graciously put in
movies to entertain us. However, there is never a lack
of entertainment in a bus full of women. The conversation
was so lively at times that it drowned out the movies
all together. We arrived back at OCC shortly before 10
pm. We were a little late and a little tired but emotionally
refreshed from spending a day filled with friendship and
blessings. This is an annual event and we want to invite
every woman at OCC to participate next year.
Senior Minister,
Bill Geiger,
bids farewell
to happy travelers!
