High
School CIY
By Jesse

On
June 17 through June 22, the High School Ministry went to Savannah
, Georgia , to attend CIY Summer Conference. This year's conference
was entitled, “ONES”, and stressed the fact that everyone was
created to be a part of a community, and that in the Christian
community we can find our identity and purpose.
CIY
Summer Conference has always been a place where new friendships
are formed, and this year was no different. Although most the
students knew each other, this trip was a great opportunity for
me to get to know all of the students.
The
Summer Conference schedule was packed with entertaining games,
intense worship, solid teaching, and close-knit small groups.
During the nightly worship and teaching time, many creative elements
were used to add to the experience, such as movies, masks, markerboards,
and prayer stations. For meals we ate at the college cafeteria,
which served the best college food we could have hoped for.
During
free time we did various activities. Some would walk around historic
downtown Savannah and look at the different statues and gardens.
Others went to the park and played soccer and ultimate frisbee.
On Thursday afternoon we drove to the beach and spent the rest
of the day there.
Summer
Conference was awesome, and while we were there, five different
students announced their desire to go into full-time ministry
in various capacities. We saw God work in amazing ways during
this trip.
This
week, the High School Ministry will leave on a mission trip to
New Orleans where we will be working with Project Nehemiah in
various relief and reconstruction efforts. Please keep the team
in your prayers.
