Tea
& Traditions '07
by Laura Kemper
On
Friday December 7, the OCC Women's Ministry hosted our 4th
annual Tea & Traditions. We had a special treat this
year as the ladies were escorted to their tables and then waited
on by the most awesome group of men!
This
year's theme was “Journey to Bethlehem ”.
Once again, the Fellowship Room was transformed (under the direction
of Laura Thompson)…this time with rich vibrant colors, palm trees
and jewels. We even had a camel that led us through Bethlehem
to the bright star that shone on that holy stable where the Christ
Child lay.
Arlene
White blessed us with a devotion on the significance and meaning
of the gifts, Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Just as the
Magi came to present those gifts, our OCC ladies and guests came
bearing gifts to be donated to Necole's Place. Our prayer
is that the mom's and babies are blessed by these gifts and feel
our love and support for their decision to choose life.
Jonathan
and his “Merry Men” sang for us and in the spirit of this being
a “ladies event” explained many reasons why Santa Claus couldn't
possibly be a man….something about asking for directions and gutting
and mounting the reindeer???
It
was a very special evening of entertainment, fellowship, delectable
delights, but most importantly, a night to sing Happy Birthday
and celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.
Don't
miss this fantastic event next year!
