OCC
Welcomes Jesse DeYoung as High School Minister
We
wanted to take this space to introduce Jesse DeYoung as OCC's
new High School Minister. As many know, the High School Minister
position has been open for just over a year, so we are especially
happy to have Jesse and his wife, Kara, join our staff and church
family. We believe that God has provided the right man - at the
right time, for this challenging and vital ministry role. Jesse
will focus his ministry with high school students, but will be
collaborating with Jon Maynard (Middle School Minister) as opportunities
for synergy are available within the Student Department.
Jesse
and Kara are not new to Louisville . Both grew up at Southeast
Christian Church and graduated from local high schools; Jesse
from Male High and Kara from Christian Academy . Jesse is the
son of Brett and Sandy DeYoung, ministering at Southeast Christian
Church. Jesse graduated Summa Cum Laude from Great Lakes Christian
College , majoring in Biblical Theology and Christian Ministries
; while Kara graduated from Furman University , majoring in Spanish.
They have been married just over a year.
Jesse
recently finished a preaching internship at Southeast Christian,
while Kara finished an internship in the Missions department.
Jesse loves to play soccer, camp, hike and mountain bike. He and
Kara love to spend time with students and look forward to their
new ministry role at OCC.
Please
welcome Jesse and Kara DeYoung!

“For
me, the big picture is students leaving high school, aware
of the glory of the God we serve and willing to follow Him
wherever He leads: the mission field, the ministry, or supporting
the advancement of the Kingdom of God.” |
