Mission Trips 2008
Jesus said “Go and make disciples
of all nations…” In the next few months three teams
will be going out into the world to help spread the Gospel while
working with missionaries that the church supports. The first
five-member team will head to Hunchun, China from June 10 -23.
They will stay with the Kims while caring for disabled orphans,
serving in a bakery and working at a school. China is a “closed
country” so please be in prayer for their safety.
On July 5-19, a six person team will be heading to Cape Town,
Africa where they will be working with the Kennedys. Amie Isabel,
their youngest daughter and OCC member, is leading the trip where
they will be putting on a VBS and doing light construction work.
Many of the children they work with will be HIV/aids victims.
The third trip will be a high school mission trip to Baltimore,
MD from July 17 - 20. The students will be helping plant a church
that will start this fall. They will be spreading Gods word by
doing good deeds and community service. Please pray for God to
prepare the hearts and minds of the people they will come in contact
with and for the impact on our students as they go forth to serve
Him.
These trips are all helping to share Gods love. The mission teams
covet your prayers and support. If you would like more information
on how you can help, please check the Information Center or OCC
website for items you can bring in. You can also make a monetary
donation payable to OCC; just write “mission trip”
in the memo section on your check. Thank you in advance for your
prayers and generosity. We pray this is the beginning of many
trips to come.
