Prepare
the Way: Holy Week 2008
by Jonathan
Colbert, Worship Minister
In just 4 weeks from today
we’ll begin a week of reenacting, reliving and participating
in the final week of Jesus’ earthly ministry. It all begins
with what we call Palm Sunday, the day that Jesus entered into
Jerusalem riding a donkey. The people were overjoyed and welcomed
Him by laying palm branches along the road, and shouting “Hosanna,
blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord”! But Jesus
knows that by week’s end, many of these same people will
cry out “crucify Him” and condemn Him to the cross.
Friday will be a night of remembrance and prayer as we remember
the death of Christ but we’ll also look to Sunday with Hope
as our extraordinary King conquers the grave and we celebrate
our freedom from sin and death!
Here are key dates to mark on your calendar.
Sunday, March 16 (Palm Sunday)
