 Last
year's VBS was tons of WaterWorks fun. We had about 300 kids each
night with KIDZ Blitz as a closing event. If you missed KIDZ Blitz,
you really missed a fun-filled family event! However - it's coming
again this year with an all-new program!
So mark your calendar with
the following dates:
May, June and July
- Gently Used Clothing Drive
July 21 – Worker
Pep-Rally in the Youth Auditorium
July 22-24 – Our
Big Backyard VBS Nights
July 25 – KIDZ Blitz
OUR BIG BACKYARD
's focus is serving… your FAMILY, your NEIGHBOR, and
your WORLD. With that in mind, we have some really neat mission
activities, one of which starts now!
Our Family
– KIDZ Blitz will be open to OCC members and the public, on a
general admission basis. Admission price for your immediate family
(those living in your house) to KIDZ Blitz, is one of the articles
listed for the Our Neighbor mission. Tickets will be sold the
night of the event, on a space available, first come, first served
basis.
Our Neighbors
–The articles brought in by KIDZ Blitz will go to the
Okolona Branch of A Women's Choice to help support the babies
who are saved by this vital, life giving ministry in our community.
These articles are to be brought the night of KIDZ Blitz, and
given to purchase your Family Ticket.
Our World
– The “world” is so big, we decided to support a church plant
that was making a difference in their community. Response Church,
an Indianapolis church plant which serves inner city kids and
their families, will be presenting the nightly mission talks.
We will conduct a “Gently Used Clothing Drive” for women, infants,
children, and teens throughout the months of May, June and July.
Put your clothes in the barrels located in Faithville. The clothes
will go to a Salvation Army Abused Women's Shelter that they work
with. Mission money collected during the week will go to Response
Church to facilitate their outreach into their community for relief
work and establishing their children's ministry.
