An Investment in Growth
During the first week
of October several members of our staff had the opportunity to
attend the Catalyst conference in Atlanta Ga. A catalyst is something
that initiates or encourages progress, and the conference is designed
to train leaders that bring value and progress to the ministries
where they serve. Proven leaders such as Bill Hybles, Andy Stanley,
Louie Giglio, and John Maxwell invest in emerging leaders by sharing
from both their experience and insight. Approximately 9,000 leaders
attended this year’s conference and we appreciate the opportunity
to be a part of that. In addition to some great instruction and
motivation we had the opportunity to spend some time developing
relationships with the other staff members from our church that
attended.
It took some effort for several staff to be away at the same time,
but the effort reaped some great benefits. The staff that remained
in Louisville kept things running smoothly, members filled in
by making hospital calls, Mike Perkins and Tommy Dillman did a
great job of leading greenhouse.
Ecclesiastes 10:10 says, “If the ax is dull and its edge
unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success.”
Thanks for the opportunity to sharpen our axes and our skills.
We appreciate your investment in our growth and productivity.
We are also thankful for the opportunity to work with a congregation
that has shown a willingness to be a catalyst for growth.
