Middle School Girl's Retreat

Are there any PRINCESSES out there?
Thirty OCC Junior High Princesses could be found (complete with
rings, crowns, and feather boas) on March 18-19 at Camp Calvary
for a “Princess Diaries Retreat”. The theme was learning
to walk, talk, and think like a princess. Zechariah 9:16 became
a favorite verse, “They will sparkle in His land like jewels
in a crown.”
The weekend was filled with many enriching events (including rolling
down a big hill), however, most would agree that the highlights
were the main sessions. Learning to think like a princess was
demonstrated by Kim Wiggington, our speaker, through song &
chalk. The conclusion of the chalk drawing was that God created
each of us to be His Bride (look for it to possibly be displayed
in the loft).
How to walk like a princess was the last session Saturday afternoon.
The girls were encouraged
to read specific scriptures and prayerfully consider signing a
covenant with God stating they would remain physically pure until
their wedding day. When a princess brought her signed card to
a youth sponsor, she was given a silver ring as a symbol of this
commitment. The sponsors had the honor of praying with each girl
as she received her ring.
Be looking for these Princesses…maybe one lives in your
house! Encourage them, tell them you are proud of them, and help
lead them into a deeper relationship with their Bridegroom.
