Missions:
Betty
Byrd with Team Expansion
Betty serves in
the International Services Office in Louisville, Kentucky.

Betty Byrd serves as
Prayer Coordinator for Team Expansion, a missions organization
in Louisville, Kentucky, with nearly 300 missionaries in 62 locations
around the world.
Team Expansion believes that prayer is the crucial strategy in
reaching the world for Christ. As Prayer Coordinator for the mission,
Betty’s work includes training missionary recruits in prayer
team development, insuring that each missionary has an adequate
prayer support base before leaving for the field. This training
takes place in group candidate training labs and on an as-needed
basis with individuals. Betty also prepares Team Expansion prayer
requests for Horizons Magazine and updates the Emerald Hills website
with daily prayer requests.
Betty is currently working to insure that one unreached people
group, one missionary, and one ministry request is prayed for
daily by an umbrella prayer group known as the Prayer Force. This
exciting venture is touching the lives of people all over the
world.
Presently, Betty works with Team Expansion on a part-time basis
while she continues to teach fourth grade at Valor Traditional
Academy. Lord willing when she has raised sufficient prayer and
financial support, she will be working on a full-time basis with
Team Expansion, and her ministry objectives will continue to grow.
Betty is a graduate of Johnson Bible College and Spalding University.
She served with her husband and children in Zambia and Mozambique
for twenty-four years before returning to Kentucky upon the death
of her husband in Mozambique in the year 2000.
Look for Betty’s article, ‘Battling the Darkness”,
to be published in TELL magazine.
