The following statements represent my core beliefs as based in scripture.

 

I believe I’m a sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  (Eph. 2:4-5, 8-9, Rom. 3:23)

 

I believe the Bible is God breathed, inerrant, infallible, sufficient and authoritative.   (2 Tim. 3:16, Heb. 4:12)

 

I believe God is 3 in 1; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1, 26-27, John 1:1-3,14, John 16:8)

 

I believe the Church is established by God through Christ to fulfill his mission on the earth.  (Matt. 16:13-18,  Acts 2:14-47)

 

I believe Heaven and Hell are real, Jesus is returning, and we will be held in account. (Matt. 28:16-20, Matt. 25:46, Rev. 21:8)

Based on these beliefs, I’m committed to the following behaviors as a disciple of Jesus and a member of His church at OCC.

• …connecting with a small group of people to study, serve and care together.(Acts 2:42-47)

I will be UNCOMMON in my forgiveness of others by…

• …being kind and compassionate, forgiving others just as Christ forgave me. (Eph. 4:32)
• …refraining from gossip and a negative attitude. (Eph. 4:29)

I will be UNDENIABLE in my acts of love and compassion towards other people by…

• …submitting my gifts and talents to the greater good of the church body in order to serve others. (1 Peter 4:10-11)

I will be UNFLINCHING in my risks for people who are separated from Christ by…

• …sharing my faith story and unashamedly pointing people to Jesus as the way, truth and life. (Matt. 28:16-20)
• …supporting the church financially. (2 Cor. 8:1-7)
