With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, all the travel and activities, all the noise and lights, we can sometimes miss the beauty of what Christmas is really about. Centuries ago, the church began a practice of remembrance and anticipation during the Christmas season. That season came to be known as Advent, from the Latin word Adventus, which simply means important arrival. That seems like a fitting word for celebrating Jesus’ birth. The Advent season is marked with remembrance of all God has done and anticipation for all He has promised to do. It’s a time of remembering that by God coming to us, He has made a way for us to escape darkness and despair, filling us instead with hope, faith, peace and joy. We look forward to worshipping with you this Christmas season.
