SURRENDER

It all starts here; surrendering your life to Jesus and His mission.  In Matthew 4:19 Jesus says “Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men.”  This is both the invitation and the definition of a surrendered follower of Jesus.  Surrendering is also an acknowledgment of the sin in your life and the need for a Savior to forgive that sin.

The GOOD NEWS is that forgiveness is available because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross.  Ephesians 1:7 says, In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.

Salvation is found in Christ alone.  Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”

In scripture we see that when someone wants to surrender to Jesus and receive the gift of salvation they do the following…

BELIEVE
John 1:12   But to all who have received him – those who believe in his name – he has given the right to become God’s children.

CONFESS
Romans 10:9   Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.

REPENT
Acts 3:19  Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that the times of refreshing may come from the Lord.

GET BAPTIZED
Acts 2:38   Then peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
